When I first saw this I thought it might just be an occupancy sensor… but it is SO much more! This new factory installed device is an interface that controls the light output of LED and e-HID fixtures. Not only does this sensor act as a photocell and occupancy sensor, but it also reads the ambient light levels and signals how bright the luminaire should be. This is referred to as daylight harvesting. As the day ends and it slowly becomes darker, your lighting will become brighter at an equal rate, providing increased safety and reduced energy costs.
These sensors will be used primarily on instant-on instant-off luminaires such as e-HID and LED.
