LEDs and Performance: KOTA 185w LED High Bay Light 120v-277v
KOTA 185w LED High Bay Light 120v-277v fixtures use multi-layer Luna 200 – Flip Chip COB LEDs. Unlike other high bay fixtures out there, KOTAs feature just one LED per fixture. However, these LEDs far outperform regular LED chips, largely due to a heat dispersion “tunnel” that allows heat to leave the surface of the chip. With this tunnel, energy flows up to the surface and leaves the fixture in the form of light, while the resulting heat has a clear path out and away from the LED. These LED chips stay cooler and are less affected by thermal wear than other LEDs on the market, so they last significantly longer. Their design, combined with the heat-dispersing design of their heat sinks (read more below), eliminate the need for fans or external cooling devices, which are repeated sources of failure in other fixtures in the market.
These chips can operate at different Kelvin temperatures, making it easy for you to achieve the kind of light you or your customer desire. They are also extremely versatile in that they can be built in a range of CRIs. They are RoHS compliant and emit a tremendous amount of light (up to 20,324 lumens).

KOTA Housing and Dimensions
KOTA LED high bay lights feature black electrophoretic deposition (EPD) heat sinks, black powder-coated brackets, tempered glass lenses, and black anodized and powder-coated reflectors. The tempered glass lens is sealed tight against the fixture and is designed with a 95% transparency rate for optimal lumen output.
The fixtures’ dimensions are 10.6″ x 9.5″ x 3.0″ and they weigh 8.23 pounds. Each KOTA 185w comes safely and individually packaged with cardboard and Styrofoam. Shipping dimensions are: 14″ x 12.6″ x 12.6″ at a weight of 9.35 pounds.
See the images above to see a visual representation of the specific dimensions of each part of the fixture. You’ll see the heat sink has a diameter of 9.45 inches and a height of 2.95 inches. Mounting the KOTA 185w LED High Bay Light 120v-277v
The KOTA 185w LED High Bay Light comes standard with an adjustable mounting arm. This adjustable arm has three holes for attaching to any surface and measures 10.55 inches long. It is made from durable and stamped stainless steel. Mounting with the adjustable arm allows you to aim and lock the KOTA high bay along one axis so your light goes where you need it most. These brackets are also easily affixed to walls or poles, if that is most appropriate for your application.
A second mounting option is the direct pole-top mount. This mounting assembly makes the KOTA 185w compatible with standard 2 3/8″ pole toppers. Why is that important? This mounting option means you can put one fixture on a pole, sure, but you also have the option of using a two-light, three-light, or four-light bullhorn bracket to mount even more fixtures on the same pole. Tennis court? Basketball court? Ski resort? KOTA fixtures are perfect for these applications.
Access Fixtures has an unspeakably wide range of mounting brackets that use this same tenon; call us today to determine the best mount for your project. Our team will also help you navigate the tricky territory of EPA ratings, wind loads, weight restrictions, and more. Our team can run a photometric report for your layout so you can see exactly the kind of light you’ll get from your KOTA fixtures.
Your third mounting choice for KOTA fixtures comes in the form of easy-mount hooks. These are best if you want the light to be directed straight down; simply hang the LED high bay from a hook and you are done (really, it’s that simple).
Patented Heat Sink for Passive Cooling
The KOTA 185w LED High Bay stands out in the crowd for many reasons, one of which is its patented heat sink. You’ll see right away that it defines much of the look of the fixture; its sleek, powder coat finish looks fantastic and will have people pointing up and asking. More importantly, though, is its unmatched ability to redistribute heat. The simple explanation is that it removes heat from the area around the COB LED, which keeps crucial components cool and functioning at full capacity.
The science behind these heat sinks incorporates copper heat sinks; the core of each heat sink is essentially a root system of these copper pipes, through which heat can travel and escape to the black, cold-forged fins. These heat sinks are finished through a process called electrophoretic deposition, which helps improve consistency across all surfaces. Read more about this technology here.
KOTA 185w LED High Bays: Dimming
These LED high bay lights can easily be fitted with dimmable drivers. Simply select dimming from the drop-down menu above and your LED high bays will be compatible with standard 0-10v dimming switches.
KOTA fixtures can be mounted to direct light up or down, making them versatile options for many projects.
185w LED High Bays will automatically detect any voltage between 120v and 277v. High-voltage wiring is also an option; talk to an Access Fixtures lighting specialist at firstname.lastname@example.org for pricing, availability, and more.
