Custom-painted commercial lighting luminaires are an Access Fixtures specialty. Most of our commercial lighting fixtures and poles can be finished in your choice of RAL color. Custom-painted luminaries (like bollard lights or wall packs) complement the architectural features of a property to add a unique design element. Using an RAL color chart, property managers and architects can easily match luminaires with existing architectural features. Specific RAL colors can be selected using the chart on this page or even on websites like Wikipedia. Though colors are as accurate as possible, please note that actual colors will vary due to screen resolution, type of device, etc. Access Fixtures is not responsible for incongruity in color due to monitor variation or color display. The safest option is to purchase a sample chart to see what color best suits what you need to match.
When placing an order for a custom-colored fixture on the Access Fixtures site, simply select the “Custom RAL Color” option and then enter the appropriate RAL color code in the box provided. Always double-check RAL colors to ensure you have selected the correct RAL color. Please add 3–4 weeks lead time for custom-finished lighting fixtures.
RAL Color Charts
The RAL color chart was designed as a universal color-matching system to define standard colors for paint and coatings in architecture, construction, industry, and road safety. RAL colors allow architects to match colors throughout a project without worrying that the colors will be slightly off. Different companies making different products with the same RAL code will produce similar results. Their products will work with products from other companies.
Custom Painting Luminaires Is Actually Powder Coating
While frequently referred to as custom painting, powder coating is quite different, as the latter uses no liquids or solvents. The powder coat is applied dry. Powder coating uses heat to convert the powder to a film. Powder coating materials are basically plastics formulated with plastic resins, pigments, flow agents, and other special ingredients that are ground into a fine powder. By changing the colors and other elements, the coating creates the desired finish characteristics, including color.
