In many locations, a customer’s shopping experience begins in the parking lot. Parking lots should be properly lit to provide safety for patrons and make them feel welcome. Thus, many major retailers have established strict specifications and monitor the status of their parking lot light levels to ensure that nothing deters potential customers.

“It can be easy to overlook something like the light levels of your parking lot,” said Access Fixtures Lighting Specialist Marc Nehdi. “Our parking lot lighting. kits offer everything you need from poles, fixtures, ballasts, lamps, and mounting hardware to make your parking lot a safe and inviting place. The kits make it easy to find and order exactly what you need. We even offer long lasting LED parking lot lights that save energy and reduce maintenance costs.”

Access Fixtures recommends a minimum of 1 foot candle of light in the darkest areas of your parking lot, with at least 2 foot candles where vehicles drive and park to prevent accidents. These measurements can be achieved with either down mount or directionalparking lot lighting. Down mount fixtures are stationary and point directly down, making them dark sky compliant. Directional lighting is adjustable and allows you to highlight walkways and entrances.
